Dear friends/visitors, in the framework of our new ecotourism activities we suggest you to take part in the activity “Cleopatra’s Secrets” which takes place in the cottage industry of organic handmade soap production. The presentation of the preparation of soaps in the traditional way brought by our great-grandmother from Egypt takes place in the lush green courtyard of Des Roses Hotel or in our farm at the Chiron’s Laboratory.
The presentation begins with a historical review of soap and its use by the ancient Mediterranean cultures. Next we will explain how soap is made and the chemical method we use to make it. This process is known as the cold method, which retains the natural glycerine, water and above all is environmentally friendly because it does not produce waste. Our soaps are 100% biodegradable.
Our soaps are made exclusively from organic olive oil, extracts of aromatic plants and herbs, as well as from the beneficial donkey milk. Our super-lubrication regulates the moisture of the skin and protects it from premature aging.
Our soaps have excellent antiseptic, disinfectant, antioxidant and detergent properties. They create a rich and creamy foam that stimulates the senses, emits aromas and exudes real pleasure.
Our goal is to highlight natural soap as an organic traditional product and through this we offer you the opportunity to use it for your personal well-being and daily hygiene, without additional chemical ingredients and other non-ecological substances.
At the end of the presentation, we will visit our exhibition where you will see all our soaps and we will give you information leaflets and small samples of them. We will also offer you our own spoon sweets and tsipouro. The presentation will last approximately 2 hours. The cost of our activity is 8€ per person.
